Responsibilities

  • Monitor and share developments in regulations, standards, and guidelines for neural networks in aerospace and defense, including AI Act, EASA AI Roadmap, EASA CoDANN, EuroCAE ED-76B, and ISO/IEC TR 5469.
  • Support the definition of hybrid control architectures combining established decision and redundant systems with neural-network statistical models.
  • Define Operational Design Domains, validation strategies, and formal-method approaches where applicable.
  • Analyze system specifications and define implementation and verification strategies for traditional and AI-based software.
  • Define software requirements, architectures, designs, and implementations while automating test cases and procedures.
  • Design and implement automation for Requirement Based Tests across host simulators and real platforms.
  • Use debugging and trace systems, including JTAG- or trace-port-connected emulators, virtualization, and hardware/software-in-the-loop techniques.
  • Verify software compatibility and suitability for target platforms, including CPU load, timing, stack, RAM, and ROM performance.
  • Analyze and resolve technical issues and participate in configuration-change management.
  • Collaborate with System Engineering, Software Quality, Software Configuration, Software Certification, Software Safety, Airworthiness, and Verification & Validation teams.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Computer Engineering/Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
  • Junior-level experience profile.
  • Knowledge of neural-network design, training, validation, and testing.
  • Knowledge of programming languages and portability standards such as ONNX.
  • Knowledge of compilation and debugging environments for microcontrollers.
  • Knowledge of modeling languages such as SysML and UML is desirable.
  • Knowledge of MathWorks modeling tools is desirable.
  • Good English-language proficiency.
  • Proactivity, strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, problem analysis and problem-solving abilities, and comfort working in technically complex environments.
  • Availability for domestic and international travel.
