Responsibilities
- Build and operate Kubernetes infrastructure, including upgrades, autoscaling, networking, workload tuning, administration, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and improve deployment safety through progressive delivery and automated rollbacks.
- Manage infrastructure as code across AWS and/or GCP, including IAM, least-privilege access, secrets, identity, DNS, edge, and CDN configuration.
- Support production stateful services, enforce Policy-as-Code guardrails, and lead incident root-cause analysis and remediation.
- Build and maintain LGTM/OpenTelemetry observability pipelines, including logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, SLOs, alerting, and paging.
- Manage telemetry cost, cardinality, log hygiene, PII handling, capacity planning, and cloud-cost monitoring.
- Partner with Web and Mobile teams on client-side and user-facing telemetry, with optional support for the device/IoT fleet.
- Mentor engineers and collaborate across engineering teams.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience as an SRE, DevOps, or Observability Engineer supporting production systems at scale.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or Node.js and solid Linux/Bash fundamentals.
- Experience with AWS and/or GCP and working knowledge of Kubernetes.
- Hands-on Kubernetes administration, Helm, networking, troubleshooting, and CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions or ArgoCD.
- Experience with observability tools or stacks including LGTM, Prometheus, Datadog, New Relic, or ELK.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a calm, methodical approach to production issues.
- Clear communication and effective collaboration across engineering teams.
- Experience supporting SOC 2 or PCI compliance is preferred.
