Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, maintain, and support engineering applications for internal and external clients.
  • Identify opportunities and propose features, technologies, and solutions to improve Engineering Applications.
  • Lead or participate in engineering application development, support, planning, design, testing, and maintenance teams.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Technology, IT, and other departments on application projects.
  • Deliver assigned work on schedule and within budget while supporting application users and clients.
  • Collect user feedback, track industry and technology trends, and recommend continuous improvements.
  • Provide expert advice on technology, engineering, Rules, and Regulations.
  • Perform selected engineering analyses and fulfill applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or computer science, or professional or chartered engineer licensure.
  • Five years of relevant engineering and/or software development experience in an applicable engineering, marine, offshore, software, consulting, university, or classification-society environment.
  • Knowledge of engineering analysis, including structural analysis, finite element methods, and structural or machinery Rule-compliance assessment.
  • Knowledge of applicable Class Rules and regulations for marine and offshore structures or machinery.
  • Understanding of software development and information technology.
  • Engineering software development and coding experience preferred.
  • Strong English communication skills and the ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to plan short- and long-term work, schedule assignments efficiently, and maintain positive client and peer relationships.
  • Interest in data, digital systems, software, analytics, and development.
