Responsibilities
- Design, estimate, and implement technical solutions for medium- and high-complexity applications.
- Analyze, refactor, redesign, and consolidate C applications during the migration from AIX to RedHat Linux.
- Participate in all phases of the application development lifecycle.
- Use C build and debugging tools, shell scripts, and systems fundamentals to deliver migration, build, run, and deployment work.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on requirements, processes, architecture, priorities, risks, and issues.
- Review team members’ work, allocate resources, influence project stakeholders, and make decisions supporting team and project objectives.
- Propose autonomous technical solutions and articulate them to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Share project knowledge and support future BAU, project, and client-integration work.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience with strong demonstrable expertise in plain C.
- Strong UNIX experience across AIX and RedHat Linux, including proven ability to port and refactor applications between them.
- Shell scripting experience with KornShell/ksh and Bash.
- Experience with Make/Makefiles, gcc, gdb, and core-dump analysis.
- Experience refactoring and consolidating applications, including redesign during a migration.
- Ability to work autonomously, take end-to-end ownership, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with SQL, DB2, Oracle, embedded SQL, sockets, TCP/IP, inter-process communication, cross-platform porting, payments or financial transaction processing, ISO 8583, PCI DSS, Git, GitHub, Harness, Jenkins, AWS, Linux administration, Docker, containerization, Terraform, infrastructure as code, and external client or third-party system integration.
