Responsibilities
- Develop next-generation cloud services infrastructure for CloudKit.
- Build and operate fault-tolerant, highly available, performant, and scalable distributed systems.
- Introduce foundational capabilities that support new applications and scale existing Apple services.
- Work with database storage, networking, concurrency, multi-threading, and multi-tier service architectures.
- Deliver high-quality services focused on customer experience, privacy, and security.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of industry experience developing software in Java, C, or C++.
- Experience with distributed NoSQL and relational database technologies.
- Expertise with synchronous and asynchronous network application I/O frameworks.
- Expertise programming in concurrent and multi-threaded environments.
- Industry experience building and operating large-scale multi-tier distributed systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent related experience.
- Preferred: experience with FoundationDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Memcached, Kafka, AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, gRPC, TLS, X.509 certificates, or related security and cryptographic protocols.
- Preferred: strong fundamentals in storage systems, including schema design, indexes, and transactions.
