Base Salary

$142k - $199k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain high-throughput batch and streaming data pipelines for ML, analytics, and real-time decisioning.
  • Develop and operate real-time feature computation and delivery systems, including feature stores and event-driven architectures.
  • Build ML-adjacent services such as inference inputs, feature APIs, and data access layers.
  • Implement scalable service patterns including autoscaling, rollout strategies, and resiliency mechanisms.
  • Instrument data and ML infrastructure with metrics, logging, and alerting, and participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
  • Identify and remediate data pipeline failures, performance regressions, and operational risks.
  • Collaborate with applied ML, data science, data engineering, platform/SRE, and product teams through design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.

Requirements

  • Experience building and operating large-scale data or ML systems in production.
  • Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and data processing architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with streaming and batch technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, Flink, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Python and working knowledge of Java, Scala, Go, or C++.
  • Experience operating systems in cloud-native environments using AWS, containers, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Familiarity with observability and production operational best practices.
  • Strong collaboration skills across engineering and data teams.
  • 5+ years of industry experience building data-intensive or ML-adjacent systems in production.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • Preferred experience with real-time personalization, recommendation, analytics systems, feature stores, event-driven architectures, real-time ML pipelines, inference pipelines, data validation, model lifecycle tooling, experimentation platforms, and data instrumentation.
