Base Salary

$224k - $267k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure systems for Laurel’s AI-driven platform.
  • Manage and optimize AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes container orchestration.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that improve deployment frequency, security, and reliability.
  • Implement observability, monitoring, and alerting, and establish organizational patterns for on-call and incident response.
  • Partner with engineering teams to diagnose performance bottlenecks and optimize cost efficiency.
  • Develop internal tooling to automate infrastructure provisioning and management and streamline development.
  • Establish reusable infrastructure and systems engineering patterns, including networking and canary deployment solutions.
  • Improve the reliability, scalability, maintainability, and performance of infrastructure and services.
  • Teach and share knowledge to reduce dependency on the infrastructure team.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in Platform, Infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps roles.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and AWS.
  • Development experience with Terraform, Go, and TypeScript.
  • Experience working in startup environments and significant Linux administration experience.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI tooling or platforms, and build systems.
  • Experience participating in a regular engineering on-call rotation.
  • Experience debugging production issues in unfamiliar codebases using logs, metrics, and tracing.
  • Ability to independently architect and ship complex systems with minimal oversight.
  • Deep experience with APIs, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and data-intensive applications.
  • Clear communication with engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience deploying AI systems into enterprise environments and working with Azure.
  • Preferred familiarity with authentication systems, security constraints, enterprise IT environments, and the listed technology stack including Argo, cdk8s, OpenTelemetry, Observe, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Spacelift, CircleCI, and GitHub Actions.
