Responsibilities
- Own the technical design and delivery of medium to large feature releases across one or more squads.
- Develop and maintain front-end features using Angular, Web Components, StencilJS, TypeScript, Sass, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Develop and enhance API endpoints and services using Node.js or C#, .NET, AWS Lambda, serverless, API Gateway, and SQL.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for application distribution using Docker, Kubernetes, and GitLab CI.
- Own the full software lifecycle, including development, testing, production support, code reviews, fixes, and improvements.
- Define technical direction, evaluate architecture and tradeoffs, and align solutions with platform and architectural standards.
- Mentor multiple engineers and improve team technical capabilities, development tools, test coverage, and code structure.
- Evaluate AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Code, and establish team norms and guardrails for responsible use.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, with at least 6 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented principles, software design patterns, system design, debugging, and diagnostics.
- Proficiency building responsive web applications with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Angular, and StencilJS.
- Experience with C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, and Entity Framework or Entity Framework Core.
- Experience developing web services and integrating applications with RESTful APIs or GraphQL.
- Experience writing ad hoc SQL queries, transactional queries, and stored procedures.
- Experience with TDD and JavaScript testing frameworks such as Jest, Karma, Protractor, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Experience with CSS preprocessors such as Sass.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud services is preferred.
- Experience developing APIs with Node.js or ASP.NET Core, AWS Lambda, serverless, and API Gateway is preferred.
- Ability to communicate complex technical topics to nontechnical audiences and document design concepts clearly.
- Ability to collaborate across squads, remove blockers, provide and receive feedback, and work within architectural standards.
