Staff Software Engineer, Frontend

Responsibilities
- Architect and drive scalable, reusable frontend components and shared libraries for GlossGenius web applications
- Define and lead the long-term technical direction of the web platform, including framework decisions, architecture patterns, and developer experience
- Partner with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to deliver a cohesive, high-quality web experience
- Set frontend standards for code quality, accessibility, performance optimization, and design system consistency
- Improve frontend tooling, build pipelines, and developer workflows across engineering teams
- Champion AI-powered development tools and establish effective, responsible usage practices
- Provide technical leadership through code reviews, architectural decisions, and cross-functional discussions
- Identify and solve systemic problems with broad impact across multiple teams
- Contribute frontend expertise to mobile efforts when applicable
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional frontend engineering experience focused on web development
- Deep expertise in React and JavaScript and strong knowledge of modern frontend architecture and patterns
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, CSS-in-JS, and responsive/adaptive design
- Experience building and evolving component libraries, design systems, or shared UI frameworks at scale
- Deep understanding of web performance, including bundle optimization, lazy loading, rendering strategies, Core Web Vitals, and profiling
- Hands-on experience with Cursor or GitHub Copilot and enthusiasm for AI-assisted development
- Ability to work autonomously and drive ambiguous projects through production-ready delivery
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to influence technical direction across teams
- React Native or cross-platform mobile development experience is preferred but not required
