Base Salary
$211k - $291k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build next-generation personalized search-ranking algorithms using deep learning and machine learning.
- Use LLMs to extract multimodal text and visual signals for user and intent profiling.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to experiment on and improve search-ranking and related ML models.
- Design and productionize natural-language search and discovery systems, including intelligent agents that generate personalized collections, explain results, and assist with browsing, filtering, and evaluation.
- Share best practices for deep-learning development, agent-workflow evaluation, and MLOps while mentoring teammates through code reviews and technical guidance.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of industry experience building large-scale ML models, shipping production ML solutions, and delivering business impact.
- At least 3 years of experience in search, recommendation, or advertising ranking.
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related STEM field.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or equivalent, with hands-on experience using deep-learning libraries such as PyTorch and big-data technologies such as Spark.
- Deep understanding of ML training and serving, imbalanced data, A/B testing, feature engineering, feature and model selection, user modeling, deep learning, and reinforcement learning.
- Strong applications experience in search, recommendation, and advertising domains.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, cross-functional influence, and a product-focused execution mindset.
- Preferred experience includes open-source ML contributions or peer-reviewed ML/AI publications, LLM-based search applications, e-commerce or marketplace search and recommendation systems, AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex, and familiarity with Kotlin.
