Base Salary
$104k - $213k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement features that improve the functionality, scalability, and reliability of the Orders API.
- Define and drive automated testing strategy, coverage, and quality practices.
- Own production monitoring, observability, alerting, availability, on-call response, and incident response.
- Participate in design feedback, code reviews, architectural discussions, and API evolution.
- Collaborate with Product, QA, and engineering teams to deliver robust services.
- Improve development tooling and delivery practices while advocating for strong coding practices.
- Use AI tools to improve development workflow and engineering productivity.
Requirements
- Require 3+ years of backend experience with Java, Kotlin, or another object-oriented language.
- Require proficiency with modern web standards and API technologies including REST and GraphQL, including schema design, evolution, and versioning.
- Require experience owning testing strategy for a service or component, including automated testing and coverage.
- Require experience operating production services with monitoring, alerting, observability, and incident response.
- Require experience with distributed systems, enterprise messaging systems, and/or microservices.
- Require proficiency with relational databases and alternative data stores.
- Require proficiency with AI tooling such as Cursor, Claude, and MCP servers.
- Strong cross-team communication skills on technical topics and a passion for technology and learning are expected.
