Responsibilities
- Develop, analyze, design, construct, test, implement, and support new or revised application systems and programs.
- Conduct feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology activities, model development, and applications development.
- Provide user and operational support to business users and consult with users, clients, and technology groups on application issues.
- Use Python, PySpark, ETL processes, data warehousing, data modeling, and big data technologies to deliver application solutions.
- Monitor and control development phases, perform performance tuning and optimization of ETL jobs, and establish operating standards and procedures.
- Analyze complex problems, recommend advanced programming solutions, and perform post-implementation analysis to ensure system functionality and appropriate security measures.
- Advise or coach new and lower-level analysts and act as a subject-matter expert for senior stakeholders and team members.
- Assess technology and business risks while supporting compliance with applicable laws, policies, regulations, and control requirements.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience is required.
- Primary skills include Python, PySpark, and big data technologies.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as Snowflake, Starburst, or Databricks is preferred.
- Knowledge of ETL tools such as Ab Initio and experience in the financial or investment banking domain are preferred.
- Knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing, and data modeling concepts is required.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including MongoDB, is required or relevant to the role.
- Experience with Hadoop, Spark, and Hive is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of shell scripting and Unix/Linux environments is required.
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization of ETL jobs is required.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills are required.
- A bachelor’s degree or university degree, or equivalent experience, is required.
