Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Proxy/SSE Network Security

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, review, and debug secure network security software and production code.
- Architect and implement Zero Trust Network Access, identity-aware proxy, secure gateway, secure web gateway, policy enforcement, segmentation, and secure egress patterns.
- Integrate or operate capabilities such as URL filtering, approved TLS inspection, malware protection, sandboxing, egress controls, and DNS security.
- Own the US perimeter, proxy, and SSE/SASE engineering roadmap, including prioritization, dependencies, delivery governance, and stakeholder alignment.
- Define standards, reference architectures, reusable engineering patterns, and operational guardrails for perimeter, forward proxy, access brokering, identity-aware access, and egress controls.
- Lead engineering across Cisco and Arista edge environments, Equinix Fabric, AWS Direct Connect, AWS PrivateLink, and related cloud and colocation connectivity patterns.
- Establish backlog governance, exception handling, risk acceptance, traceability, auditability, and risk-reduction reporting mechanisms.
- Drive incident, change, problem-management, observability, resiliency validation, automation, technology lifecycle management, and modernization outcomes for perimeter and SSE services.
- Supervise engineers and coordinate cross-team remediation, modernization, and platform programs.
- Promote approved AI-assisted engineering practices while establishing standards for validating correctness, performance, security, data handling, and compliance.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in network security, SASE, SSE, identity security, or security engineering, or equivalent depth.
- Strong understanding of Zero Trust, policy-based access, segmentation, secure egress, network and perimeter security architecture, encryption, access control, and defense-in-depth.
- Hands-on experience with forward proxy, reverse proxy, identity-aware proxy, gateway architectures, and secure internet access controls.
- Deep knowledge of SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, JWT, JWKs, signing, verification, rotation, scopes, claims, and replay protection.
- Experience delivering regional infrastructure or security platform ownership in the US or North America, including prioritization, cross-team coordination, and operational accountability.
- Experience supervising engineers and delivering remediation, modernization, and platform programs with defined scope, dependencies, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
- Experience designing, delivering, or operating enterprise-scale proxy and SSE capabilities and translating security requirements into deployable patterns and operational guardrails.
- Experience with Cisco and Arista environments, interconnect and colocation models including Equinix Fabric, and cloud adjacency patterns including AWS Direct Connect and AWS PrivateLink.
- Experience leading approved AI-assisted software development, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting, and safe validation of AI outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, security, and compliant adoption.
- Preferred experience integrating US delivery needs into global standards and governance models, leading AI-threat-informed remediation, building enterprise security governance, operating externally facing security services, and designing hybrid multi-cloud edge architectures.
- Preferred security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or comparable credentials.
