Base Salary
$121k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, document, and deploy high-quality backend software into production.
- Build scalable features and internal tools for Fanatics’ shared platform capabilities.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, team planning, and engineering strategy development.
- Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot software issues when needed.
- Improve testability, operational excellence metrics, documentation, and software quality.
- Collaborate with product teams and internal stakeholders on technology decisions.
- Mentor and onboard junior engineers and interns.
- Travel occasionally to Fanatics offices and other locations for conferences, events, meetings, and team-building activities.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building highly scalable, performant, and evolvable backend distributed systems.
- Demonstrated ability to drive backend development best practices and mentor others in coding and architecture.
- Knowledge of observability practices, including logging, monitoring, and tracing in distributed systems.
- Experience driving process improvements and collaborating cross-functionally in large enterprise environments.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Preferred experience in the sports industry, gaming, or content delivery.
- Strong experience with Kotlin, Java, and/or Go.
- Experience with Kafka or Amazon SQS and event-driven architectures.
- Comfort working with Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, cloud-native systems, and infrastructure as code.
- Ability to work across legacy and greenfield codebases in different languages and environments.
