Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain network automation solutions using Nautobot.
- Automate network provisioning, configuration management, compliance validation, configuration backup, lifecycle management, and remediation.
- Integrate Nautobot with ServiceNow for CMDB synchronization, change management, incident workflows, service catalog requests, and request fulfillment.
- Automate configuration across multi-vendor network devices using APIs and automation frameworks.
- Develop reusable automation playbooks, scripts, Nautobot Jobs, custom plugins, and workflow solutions.
- Maintain network inventory, IP address management, prefixes, configuration data, and device lifecycle workflows in Nautobot.
- Automate firewall, routing, switching, wireless, load balancer, and DDI platforms.
- Integrate automation platforms with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot automation failures, API integrations, and workflow issues.
- Support network implementations, upgrades, migrations, operational changes, compliance reporting, and drift remediation.
- Prepare technical documentation, workflow diagrams, runbooks, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with Network Engineering, Security, Cloud, and Service Management teams.
- Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and follow software development best practices.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience is required.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Python-based network automation is preferred.
- Experience with Nautobot, ServiceNow, enterprise network automation, production-grade automation solutions, and multi-vendor network environments.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise networking, APIs, automation architecture, network inventory, configuration automation, compliance, and source-of-truth architecture.
- Experience with Python, REST APIs, JSON, YAML, Jinja2 templates, Git, GitHub or GitLab, Linux, and Bash scripting.
- Experience with Ansible, Nautobot Jobs, Nautobot plugins, Nornir, Netmiko, NAPALM, Paramiko, and pyATS.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, routing and switching, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VRFs, MPLS, VPN technologies, NAT, IPv4, IPv6, QoS, and high availability.
- Experience with CI/CD implementation, zero-touch provisioning, configuration compliance, governance, network transformation, and infrastructure modernization.
- Preferred experience with Django, FastAPI, and Flask.
- Preferred certifications include Cisco DevNet Associate or Professional, Nautobot Certified Professional, Red Hat Certified Engineer, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Developer, ITIL Foundation, and Python programming certification.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, presentation, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
