Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend software components using modern C++.
- Build algorithms that combine and process data from multiple sensors.
- Develop and optimise real-time image and data processing pipelines.
- Create and integrate Qt and QML user interfaces connected to C++ backends.
- Perform code reviews, testing, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with systems, embedded, and UI/UX engineers.
- Contribute to requirements, architecture, implementation, and documentation across the full software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong commercial experience with C++.
- Hands-on experience with Qt and QML.
- Experience with real-time, embedded, or performance-critical systems.
- Ability to work on complex systems integrating software, hardware, and data.
- Experience in defence or maritime industries.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, or equivalent military experience.
- Willingness and eligibility to obtain at least BPSS clearance.
- Desirable experience includes sensor data from cameras, radar, LiDAR, or similar inputs; image processing, computer vision, or perception systems; embedded Linux; low-level system integration; multi-threaded applications; performance optimisation; and regulated, safety-critical, or high-reliability environments.
