Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and architecture of high-performance C++ applications for autonomous maritime systems.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software engineers while promoting software design, code quality, and integration best practices.
- Collaborate with systems engineering, UX, QA, product management, and external partners to deliver software solutions.
- Participate in Agile planning, reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement activities.
- Use JIRA, GitLab, and development pipelines to manage work and support reliable software delivery.
- Oversee and contribute to Qt-based user-interface development for mission-critical operator interfaces.
- Ensure software is robust, scalable, secure, maintainable, and supportable throughout its lifecycle.
- Support development, integration, deployment, and DevOps activities in Linux and RHEL 8 environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least five years of professional C++ software development experience, including embedded or real-time systems.
- Experience providing technical leadership in Agile and DevSecOps environments.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver complex, high-reliability software systems.
- Strong Linux and Git-based development experience.
- Experience with modern software development workflows and CI/CD practices.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Preferred qualifications include Qt GUI development, DevOps tools and build automation, autonomous systems and maritime software, UX principles, IRAD or R&D programmes, embedded systems, sensor integration, and mission management software.
