Responsibilities
- Develop scripts, configuration, and operational tools.
- Contribute to reviewed infrastructure-as-code changes.
- Monitor, design, and improve multitenant architecture serving millions of requests daily.
- Debug and investigate incidents, implement fixes, and complete root-cause analysis.
- Learn to architect reliable infrastructure in cloud environments.
- Join the help desk and on-call rotation after becoming sufficiently familiar with the systems.
- Collaborate with SRE, Product, and Engineering teams on operational requirements.
- Improve monitoring, alerting, and technical documentation.
- Gradually take ownership of shared platform services, including databases, messaging, logging, search, and tenant provisioning.
- Contribute to proactive infrastructure improvement projects beyond incident response.
Requirements
- Completed a Computer Science degree within the last two years.
- Foundational understanding of networking, operating systems, and debugging, with the ability to troubleshoot straightforward issues with guidance.
- Ability to write and modify simple automation scripts in Python, Go, or Bash.
- Comfort navigating Linux and the command line, running common commands, and reading logs.
- Hands-on use or deployment of AWS or Azure through coursework, a personal project, or an internship.
- Comfort using AI coding tools such as Cursor or Claude Code to generate code and troubleshoot.
- Interest in reliability, infrastructure, automation, and investigating how systems break and are fixed.
- Clear communication skills and willingness to ask questions and seek help.
- Relevant projects, coursework, capstones, hackathons, internships, placements, or technology student society involvement are valued.
