Responsibilities
- Build, version, and evolve Stack AI’s public API and SDKs with a strong developer experience.
- Define API conventions, versioning and deprecation policies, and review standards across platform services.
- Build tracing and instrumentation to follow agent runs across models, tools, and sub-agents.
- Create customer-facing analytics showing agent performance, cost, and improvement opportunities.
- Own audit logging and team-scoped views for enterprise customers.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience building backend services and public APIs in production.
- Strong API design skills, including RESTful design, SDK ergonomics, and rate limiting.
- Fluency with OpenAPI and API standards governance, including versioning, deprecation, and consistency across services.
- Experience with observability and analytics, including distributed tracing, metrics, and turning raw signals into reliable data products.
- Strong Python skills and experience with modern backend frameworks such as FastAPI.
- Comfort working across TypeScript and Node.js on product surfaces.
- Bonus experience with OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing at scale, ClickHouse, Druid, external developer-facing SDKs, AI or LLM platforms, token and cost accounting, agent-run tracing, or startup/growth-stage companies.
