Responsibilities
- Execute Carbonite-based lift-and-shift migration projects for enterprise workloads.
- Perform Linux and Windows OS-level and VM-level checks.
- Complete replication, cutover, validation, and other hands-on migration activities.
- Troubleshoot migration failures, performance issues, and other migration problems, including root cause analysis.
- Use Ansible, Puppet, Python, and PowerShell to automate migration tasks.
- Support VMware and Google Cloud Platform integration during migration activities.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams to ensure successful migrations.
- Document migration processes, issues, and resolutions.
- Participate in war rooms and provide technical leadership during critical migration phases.
- Ensure adherence to architecture and security standards.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience is required.
- Proven experience executing cloud lift-and-shift migrations.
- SME-level expertise in Red Hat Linux or Windows Server.
- Strong knowledge of VMware infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform migrations.
- Proficiency with Ansible, Puppet, Python, and PowerShell.
- A required cloud certification, preferably Google Cloud Platform certification.
- A required operating-system certification, preferably RHCE.
- Networking fundamentals, NSX-T, VMware VRO, advanced Python scripting, Active Directory, and monitoring or logging experience are desirable.
- Terraform, Python, or Ansible certification or experience is desirable.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
