Responsibilities
- Implement and support cloud-hosted web applications, virtual machines, databases, storage systems, and service buses.
- Deploy, migrate, administer, and automate services across AWS and Azure environments.
- Implement application monitoring and observability solutions and analyze performance trends for capacity planning.
- Troubleshoot complex system and application issues and support UNIX-based services for uptime, performance, and security.
- Perform system administration tasks including account management, patching, application deployment, installations, and routine maintenance.
- Own and enforce security compliance processes and controls.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to roll out products and services and create operational documentation.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call pager rotation and incident management.
- Manage uptime and performance using service-level indicators and objectives.
Requirements
- 3 to 7 years of experience is stated, including 5 to 8 years of production experience in medium- to large-scale web-facing Linux, Solaris, or BSD environments.
- Deep experience with AWS or Azure, including service deployment or migration, and experience with Docker and Kubernetes, EKS, or AKS.
- Experience with monitoring, trending, configuration management, observability, and CI/CD tools including Prometheus, Cortex, Grafana, New Relic, Datadog, Splunk, Jenkins, and Groovy DSL.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, SSH, DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSL, HTTP, and LDAP.
- Experience with Chef, Puppet, CFEngine, or Ansible, plus basic understanding of Terraform or CloudFormation Templates.
- Preferred experience includes caching architectures, security compliance frameworks such as SOC II, PCI, HIPAA, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP, and programming with Python, Java, or Go.
- Preferred experience includes MySQL, Java, Apache, and Tomcat, along with service-level indicator and objective management.
- Education qualifications include BE, B.Tech, M.Tech, or MCA; the posting also lists an MBA and Bachelor of Engineering under required degrees.
- Strong verbal and written communication, analytical problem-solving, and ability to work independently are required.
