Responsibilities
- Build, improve, and support sustainable, reliable, and highly available digital services in cross-functional engineering teams.
- Debug complex multi-server services in high-availability production environments.
- Build AWS infrastructure using Terraform and automate infrastructure with Ansible.
- Apply Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, CI, and orchestration tooling on technically challenging projects.
- Provide technical leadership on projects and/or to more junior team members.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Experience debugging complex, multi-server services in a high-availability production environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts.
- Sound knowledge of Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience building AWS infrastructure with Terraform.
- Experience with automation tooling such as Ansible.
- Ability to provide technical leadership in a project context or to junior team members.
- Strong understanding of CI environments and their role in automation with orchestration tools.
- Desirable experience with core networking, load balancing, Jenkins, Concourse, GitLab CI, Git, GitHub, GitLab, Graphite, Grafana, ELK, Prometheus, SQL, NoSQL databases, Packer, Vault, and Consul.
- Eligibility for BPSS checks and SC clearance, including the stated UK residency requirements for SC eligibility.
