Base Salary
$157k - $239k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud and hybrid network architecture, including VPNs, site-to-site connectivity, segmentation, routing, DNS, and firewalling.
- Improve network security through segmentation, access controls, and connectivity hardening.
- Manage network infrastructure as code using IaC, CI/CD, and GitOps workflows.
- Define SLOs and build observability using metrics, logs, and tracing for connectivity and ground-station availability.
- Investigate reliability issues, perform root-cause analysis, implement durable fixes, and automate operational toil.
- Participate in broader SRE platform reliability, expansion, incident response, planning, and user-support activities.
- Coordinate with IT and Test Infrastructure on physical infrastructure interfaces and secure test-equipment access.
Requirements
- 4–5 years of network engineering experience with deep hands-on experience in routing, VPN/site-to-site connectivity, segmentation, DNS, and firewalling.
- Hands-on experience managing software-defined networks programmatically and as code.
- Strong public-cloud networking experience, ideally with GCP VPCs, peering, and hybrid connectivity.
- Experience operating Kubernetes and Docker platforms, with occasional coding.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and CI/CD-driven GitOps workflows.
- Understanding of SRE practices including SLOs, observability, automation, and toil reduction.
- Ability to debug connectivity issues in complex hybrid network environments.
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Network certification such as CCNP or similar is a preferred qualification.
- Experience with ArgoCD or FluxCD, FinOps, cost-optimized architectures, security practices, or resource-constrained orchestration is preferred.
