Base Salary
$168k - $245k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and management of large-scale, highly available distributed systems.
- Collaborate with application teams to improve SaaS platform performance, reliability, and security.
- Deploy resilient AWS cloud-native services across a multi-region, microservice-based architecture.
- Use Kubernetes, Prometheus, and service mesh technologies to standardize operations.
- Develop automation for deployment, chaos testing, and everything-as-code strategies.
- Identify and resolve operational obstacles while ensuring scalability under substantial daily data volumes.
- Support incident response, change management, deployment strategies, and SLO practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of related experience, master’s degree plus 4 years, PhD plus 1 year, or equivalent related work experience.
- Proficiency in software development with Python or Go.
- Ability to build scalable, well-tested, security-focused solutions integrating security protocols throughout the development and deployment lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of Unix/Linux systems, including kernels, system libraries, file systems, and client-server protocols.
- Knowledge of Site Reliability principles, including incident response, change management, distributed systems, deployment strategies, and SLOs.
- Preferred experience operating large-scale, highly available enterprise platforms.
- Preferred expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes and its ecosystem.
- Preferred in-depth knowledge of cloud providers, particularly AWS.
- Strong communication, documentation, ownership, drive, and attention to detail.
