Base Salary
$157k - $266k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop Linux software across OS components, platform and infrastructure services, applications, frameworks, libraries, and tools using modern C++, Python, and shell scripts.
- Design and maintain platform-layer APIs, interfaces, SDKs, and abstractions connecting hardware and OS services with user-facing and data-driven applications.
- Develop distributed frameworks for edge data processing, ML inference pipelines, and UI data delivery, including service boundaries, transport protocols, and data contracts.
- Evaluate CPU-versus-GPU, on-device-versus-distributed, and latency-versus-throughput trade-offs and make embedded software architecture decisions.
- Integrate user-facing applications with platform and infrastructure services through extensible interfaces.
- Analyze and optimize runtime performance across operating-system, platform, infrastructure, and application layers.
- Produce technical design documentation and write production-ready, testable code while improving regression detection and debugging processes.
Requirements
- Strong modern C++ and advanced Linux software development experience.
- Hands-on experience with Python and shell scripting.
- Strong systems design knowledge focused on performance, testability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Experience designing platform APIs, SDKs, or framework interfaces that abstract hardware and OS capabilities.
- Extensive experience implementing software/hardware interfaces in complex devices, including Linux interfaces to external devices and network communication interfaces.
- Familiarity with inter-process communication and distributed messaging such as shared memory, publish/subscribe, gRPC, or similar RPC frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, troubleshooting, independent-work, and collaboration skills.
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 7+ years of industry experience, or MS with 5+ years of industry experience.
- Preferred: GPU technologies, machine-learning frameworks, Docker, Kubernetes, production embedded ML scaling, edge data ingestion or streaming pipelines, and UI framework integration patterns.
