Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Own hypervisor and virtual machine capabilities, including VM definitions, CPU and memory partitioning, device assignment, passthrough, and virtio-based device models.
- Design and optimize inter-VM communication using shared memory, message passing, and virtualized I/O.
- Enable embedded Linux, Yocto-based distributions, Android, and QNX guest operating systems with platform services and developer tooling.
- Implement and optimize boot and secure-boot chains, startup sequencing, and platform-integrity verification.
- Build resource governance, health monitoring, watchdog, fault detection, fault handling, and recovery services for automotive platforms.
- Develop container-runtime and workload-management capabilities, including isolation, resource limits, lifecycle management, updates, and rollbacks.
- Profile, optimize, and debug CPU, memory, I/O, and interrupt behavior across guests, hypervisors, firmware, and silicon.
- Improve platform engineering quality through CI/CD, hardware-in-the-loop automation, validation, Git and GitHub workflows, and code reviews.
- Mentor engineers and collaborate with silicon enablement, guest OS, BSP, functional safety, and cybersecurity teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in embedded, systems, or kernel-level software development, including production software in automotive or similarly complex embedded domains.
- Deep operating-system-level software expertise on Arm-based SoCs, including experience with areas such as hypervisors, real-time operating systems, Linux kernel subsystems, bootloaders, secure boot, or platform startup sequencing.
- Experience delivering commercial embedded systems using Yocto or comparable embedded build systems.
- Strong experience with system performance, optimization, and debugging across hardware, firmware, hypervisors, kernels, and user space.
- Experience with build systems and development tools including Git, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release-quality platform software.
- Strong proficiency in C and C++, plus practical experience with Python and shell scripting.
- Demonstrated technical leadership through architecture contributions, mentoring, design reviews, code reviews, and cross-team execution.
- Preferred: master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Preferred: experience with Gunyah, QNX Hypervisor, Xen, KVM/Arm, virtio, QNX SDP, AOSP, Android Automotive, or Yocto guest environments.
- Preferred: automotive functional safety and cybersecurity experience, including ISO 26262, ASIL, freedom from interference, safety islands, health-monitoring frameworks, and ISO/SAE 21434.
- Preferred: experience with OCI-compliant runtimes, Podman, systemd-based isolation, trusted execution environments, secure-boot chains, key management, Rust, GDB, perf, ftrace, strace, or open-source virtualization and operating-system projects.
