Responsibilities
- Own the strategy and technical foundation for AlphaSense’s Excel plugin and Office integrations.
- Build, deploy, update, and operate a performant cross-platform Excel plugin for enterprise customers.
- Connect AlphaSense’s AI-driven market intelligence platform with Excel workflows used by financial professionals.
- Debug complex integration issues and optimize application memory, performance, error handling, and recovery.
- Establish engineering best practices and mentor a team working on desktop development.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building and operating large-scale production systems.
- Deep expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript and modern development practices.
- Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, state management, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with enterprise software deployment, updates, and version management.
- Demonstrated ability to build performant applications with strong error handling and recovery.
- Excellence in debugging complex integration issues and optimizing memory and performance.
- Ability to mentor teams and establish development best practices.
- Preferred experience with Office JavaScript API, VSTO, COM add-ins, Excel’s calculation engine, financial modeling, data analysis workflows, trading systems, React, offline-capable applications, synchronization mechanisms, WebSocket, real-time data feeds, or streaming architectures.
