Base Salary
$230k - $316k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate deep learning models for multimodal classification and reasoning tasks.
- Conduct the full research lifecycle, including stakeholder discussions, data collection, annotation, preprocessing, model training, and rigorous evaluation.
- Prototype models in Python using PyTorch and TensorFlow and implement multimodal model mid-training and post-training improvements.
- Apply knowledge-distillation techniques to transfer reasoning capabilities from larger models to smaller, efficient models.
- Develop transformer architecture modifications, reasoning methods, reinforcement-learning and policy-optimization techniques, and multi-agent reasoning workflows.
- Document experiments and results through internal reports, blog posts, and publications in conferences and workshops.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience releasing AI/ML products.
- PhD in AI, NLP, computer vision, speech processing, or a related discipline.
- Strong publication record in top-tier venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, NAACL, EMNLP, and CVPR.
- Expertise training, post-training, and evaluating transformer-based models, including training dynamics, architecture modifications, and optimization techniques.
- Hands-on experience with supervised fine-tuning, reinforcement learning such as GRPO, advanced post-training for reasoning models, RL implementation, and policy optimization.
- Experience implementing and modifying transformer architectures, including encoder/decoder variants, attention mechanisms, and positional encodings.
- Knowledge of Chain-of-Thought, agentic tree search, continual learning, multi-agent orchestration, and task decomposition.
- Experience with static frameworks such as LangGraph and dynamic multi-agent harnesses for complex reasoning workflows.
- Ability to adapt to emerging research directions such as JEPA training, world models, diffusion-based generation, and agentic harnesses.
