Base Salary

$126k - $190k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop firmware for highly integrated embedded devices.
  • Contribute throughout the product development lifecycle, including exploration, prototyping, detailed design, testing, and ramping to mass production.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and senior firmware engineers on system architecture and integration.
  • Meet medical-device regulatory requirements through clear documentation and robust testing.
  • Support embedded software DevOps, including automated code building and testing.
  • Evaluate and use AI tools appropriately for firmware development.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of professional firmware or embedded software experience with consumer electronics, medical devices, or other highly integrated embedded hardware.
  • Strong expertise with C in firmware or embedded systems contexts.
  • Proficiency with low-level drivers such as ADC and PWM and communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, and UART.
  • Proficiency in Python for firmware testing tools and task automation.
  • Experience using Git, embedded development tools, build systems, J-Link, and debugging workflows.
  • Ability to read datasheets and schematics or collaborate with electrical engineers on MCU pin and peripheral allocation.
  • Competency with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and power supplies.
  • Preferred experience in medical-device development or another highly regulated industry.
  • Preferred experience developing firmware with AI copilots or agentic tools.
  • Preferred experience with RTOS development, especially Zephyr; Nordic nRF5x SoCs; Nordic Connect SDK; Bluetooth LE; bootloaders; firmware updates; and memory maps.
  • Preferred familiarity with embedded DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and hardware-in-the-loop automated testing.
