Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and automate scalable Linux-based infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible.
- Create VM templates, configure operating systems and hardware resources, manage repositories with Red Hat Satellite, and use GitLab for code updates.
- Install, upgrade, administer, provision, and deploy developer tools and applications including GitLab, Subversion, Bitbucket, Confluence, Jira, and Smartbear.
- Stand up and tear down development, testing, and production environments, including server provisioning and network configuration.
- Lead migration of on-premises Linux servers and applications to AWS, Azure, or GCP while minimizing downtime and preserving data integrity.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI in collaboration with development teams.
- Implement monitoring and logging with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack, and troubleshoot system performance and failures.
- Apply Linux infrastructure security practices, manage user access, and conduct regular audits.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams in an onsite St. Louis office environment.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a Linux Administrator or in a similar role.
- Expertise with the Linux command line, Bash or Python scripting, and system-level troubleshooting.
- Required experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VM templates, and OS-level infrastructure management.
- Hands-on experience with Git, Ansible, Terraform, and CI/CD platforms, including Ansible playbook development and GitLab-based updates.
- Practical experience with at least one major cloud provider—AWS, Azure, or GCP—and compute, storage, networking, and database services.
- Experience installing, upgrading, and administering software development tools such as GitLab, Confluence, Jira, Subversion, Bitbucket, or Smartbear.
- Ability to automate complex tasks and workflows.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with development, QA, and operations teams.
- Availability to work onsite at the St. Louis office.
- Bonus experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Python or Ruby, container security, Chef, or Puppet.
