Base Salary
$135k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and improve the core libraries, frameworks, and tools used by engineers across the company.
- Improve the speed and reliability of developer infrastructure, including the Bazel build system and Buildkite CI/CD.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve code quality, testability, and release processes.
- Establish development best practices and standards.
- Own technical and product decisions and gather feedback from internal users.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least two years of experience building high-quality software products and tools in technically challenging domains, with a focus on quality, reliability, and developer ergonomics.
- Ability to own products end-to-end, from underlying infrastructure through engagement metrics.
- Expertise in Go, C++, Python, or TypeScript, with experience creating or maintaining libraries, frameworks, and APIs.
- Strong focus on code quality and raising engineering standards across an organization.
- Experience with automotive, autonomy, robotics, or related industries is preferred.
- Experience with service architecture and middleware such as gRPC, Fx, or SQLAlchemy is preferred.
- Experience with Bazel, Buildkite, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, or related build, CI, and deployment technologies is preferred.
- Experience deploying software to public clouds or on-premise clusters is preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Linux operating systems and surrounding software ecosystems is preferred.
