Senior / Staff Software Engineer (Database)

Base Salary
$170k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver database improvements focused on correctness, reliability, and performance.
- Own projects end to end from early-stage design through operational pager support.
- Debug and resolve complex distributed-systems issues, sometimes directly with customers.
- Improve system reliability, observability, and automation.
- Collaborate with the engineering team, Product, Field Engineering, and other stakeholders on direction and prioritization.
- Share work through mentorship, demos, blog posts, documentation, and other relevant channels.
Requirements
- Several years of software development experience.
- Passion for distributed systems and/or databases.
- Willingness to learn Rust if not already familiar with it.
- Ability to own work across design, implementation, code review, operations, documentation, and mentorship.
- Ability to write clear design documents and well-documented code.
- Interest in balancing engineering resilience, delivery speed, and product value.
