Senior / Staff Software Engineer (Database)

Base Salary
$170k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver database improvements focused on correctness, reliability, and performance.
- Own projects end to end from early-stage design through production pager support.
- Debug and resolve complex distributed-systems issues, including issues involving customers.
- Improve system reliability, observability, and automation.
- Collaborate with the engineering team, Product, Field Engineering, and other stakeholders on direction and prioritization.
- Share work through mentorship, demos, blog posts, and other relevant channels.
Requirements
- Several years of software-development experience.
- Passion for distributed systems and/or databases.
- Excitement to learn Rust if it is not already familiar.
- Ability to own work end to end, including design, code review, pager duty, documentation, and teaching others.
- Ability to write clear design documents and well-documented code.
- Interest in solving complex customer problems and balancing engineering resilience, delivery speed, and product value.
