Base Salary
$150k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Represent the Architecture team to assigned engineering teams and drive platform modernization in accordance with the Target State Architecture.
- Apply AI tooling and Spec-Driven Development practices to modernize platform components.
- Pair directly with engineers and technical leaders to unblock work and transfer architectural patterns into team practice.
- Advise on migration approaches, sequencing, risks, and TSA-aligned solutions.
- Collaborate with architects to maintain consistency across platform-wide modernization efforts.
- Write and review Technical Design Documents and RFCs, and coach authors on their proposals.
- Define repeatable standards for tooling, coding, processes, AI usage, and documentation.
- Engage directly with projects through technical design, code, and delivery outcomes.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software development experience, primarily building and scaling backend systems.
- Demonstrated experience with distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
- Preferred experience with TypeScript and Node.js; experience with another strongly typed language such as Java or .NET is also considered.
- Experience with containerization and deploying containerized applications.
- Professional experience applying AI tooling and AI-assisted development practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build consensus during technical design discussions.
- Willingness to lead and participate visibly in Architecture and engineering design meetings.
- Comfort pairing directly with engineers and technical leadership.
- Bonus experience with Kubernetes, NestJS, Helm charts, Spec-Driven Development tools, ArgoCD, Datadog, OpenAPI, or AsyncAPI.
