Responsibilities
- Own the backend systems that power user experiences across API and Claude products.
- Scope complex, multi-month projects and lead technical decisions.
- Drive alignment with product and engineering teams to identify capability gaps.
- Make architectural decisions affecting system reliability and scalability.
- Design processes to enhance team effectiveness and prevent recurring failures.
- Collaborate with research teams to integrate new model capabilities into products.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as a backend or product engineer.
- Strong coding fundamentals and experience with backend systems and APIs.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale backend systems in production.
- Ability to communicate clearly and influence technical decisions across teams.
- Experience with distributed systems, API design, and cloud infrastructure.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity in fast-paced environments.
