Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Design and implement large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across teams, including architecture, technology direction, platform roadmaps, and shared-services strategy.
- Mentor engineers, drive professional development, and contribute to internal and external technology communities.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and product leaders to deliver cloud-based solutions.
- Establish coding standards, design patterns, observability practices, reliability practices, and enterprise-wide technical standards.
- Use observability to identify and optimize performance bottlenecks in distributed systems.
- Lead cross-functional engineering efforts and large-scale technical initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 9+ years coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
- Preferred: 5+ years contributing to open source frameworks and using front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks.
- Preferred: experience with APIs, databases, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, Git-based version control, and cloud troubleshooting.
- Preferred: experience mentoring senior engineers, leading architecture reviews, influencing technology strategy, enforcing coding standards, and implementing observability and reliability practices at scale.
- Experience with modern AI-based coding tools, interactive AI tooling, and cross-functional engineering leadership.

- Annual salary ranges vary by location: Chicago, Plano, and Richmond $209,000–$238,500; McLean $229,900–$262,400; New York $250,800–$286,200.
