Responsibilities
- Execute projects and processes within the Site Reliability Engineering function and resolve operational problems and roadblocks.
- Evaluate operational requirements and develop technical solutions within existing frameworks.
- Write scripts and support automation to improve operational workflows and incident response.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system, application, and network issues while escalating complex problems when necessary.
- Implement observability solutions for metrics, logs, and traces to support detection, diagnosis, and service improvement.
- Design and operate highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable systems with disaster recovery capabilities.
- Perform incident triage, root-cause analysis, blameless post-mortems, and proactive production and change management.
- Monitor capacity and optimize system performance and infrastructure utilization.
- Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders, contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing, and participate in reviews and quality assurance activities.
- Mentor others, contribute to new product or service solutions, and potentially manage smaller projects or initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience applying Site Reliability Engineering practices independently in routine and moderately complex situations.
- Ability to write and maintain automation, monitoring, deployment, and incident-response code or scripts using Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
- Ability to configure, operate, and troubleshoot Linux/Unix systems and network components.
- Knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, security, and system reliability.
- Ability to design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, available, and efficient applications and infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of high availability, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
- Ability to apply DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and orchestration.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues across systems, applications, and networks using analytical methods and tools.
- Knowledge of IT service management principles for incident, problem, and change management.
- Ability to use application reliability signals to anticipate issues and drive preventative improvements.
