Responsibilities
- Improve the full lifecycle of services from inception and design through deployment, operation, and refinement.
- Analyze ITSM activities and provide development teams with feedback on operational gaps and resiliency concerns.
- Support service launches through system design consulting, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
- Measure and monitor availability, latency, and overall system health for live services.
- Scale systems through automation and drive changes that improve reliability and delivery velocity.
- Support application CI/CD pipelines through validation and operational gating.
- Lead DevOps automation and best practices across development, quality, release, and product organizations.
- Practice incident response and conduct blameless postmortems.
- Diagnose production events across the technology stack and optimize mean time to recover.
- Collaborate with global teams across multiple technology hubs and time zones.
- Share knowledge and mentor junior resources.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding, such as physics or mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design.
- Systematic problem-solving skills, strong communication, ownership, and drive.
- Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
- Ability to handle difficult situations and make urgent decisions while supporting multiple stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with one or more of C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby.
- Interest in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience working across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and build relationships.
- Experience with industry-standard CI/CD tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, and Chef.
- Experience designing and implementing efficient CI/CD flows from development through production is desired.

- The listed base salary range for O’Fallon, Missouri is $96,000–$163,000 USD.
