Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support internal platforms, backend services, microservices, and engineering tools.
- Implement complex features from concept through production deployment in collaboration with technical leads and team members.
- Develop backend services using Golang, Java, and gRPC.
- Contribute to software architecture and design decisions for scalability, resiliency, maintainability, and operational readiness.
- Write high-quality code and automated tests while promoting software quality and maintainability.
- Analyze system behavior, troubleshoot complex issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Improve application performance, reliability, and observability across services and platforms.
- Contribute to automation, development workflows, and engineering practices that improve delivery speed and team effectiveness.
- Review code, provide feedback, and promote secure and maintainable engineering practices.
- Support and guide less experienced engineers through knowledge sharing and technical collaboration.
- Collaborate with product managers and customer experience designers to translate user needs into technical solutions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and apply them where they provide measurable value.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Golang, Java, or comparable object-oriented programming languages.
- Ability to design and implement complex features in large-scale applications and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture, service-to-service communication, and API development.
- Understanding of software design principles and architectural patterns for scalable, resilient applications.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable code while balancing performance, reliability, and sustainability.
- Proven success contributing to large engineering initiatives involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving.
- Ability to evaluate and optimize performance in high-volume, transaction-oriented environments.
- Commitment to automated testing, code quality, and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with secure coding practices and modern software engineering standards.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across complex systems.
- Comfort working in Agile environments with geographically distributed teams.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and design teams.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical background.
- Ability to use tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, ChatGPT, and similar technologies to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery outcomes.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies, frameworks, and development approaches.
- Customer-focused mindset and awareness of how technical decisions affect user outcomes.
