Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, support, and operate scalable cloud-native applications and services.
- Build backend solutions with Java and Spring Boot and frontend applications with React and TypeScript.
- Design REST APIs and integrations with Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket, SonarQube, Workday, Backstage, and related developer platforms.
- Improve developer productivity through automation, self-service capabilities, platform standardization, and plugin-based architectures.
- Define testing strategies covering unit, integration, and functional/end-to-end testing and integrate automated testing into delivery pipelines.
- Lead benchmarking, load testing, capacity planning, system optimization, and performance engineering initiatives.
- Apply secure coding, security, regulatory, and compliance requirements throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, incident resolution, and postmortem activities for complex distributed systems.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and provide technical leadership across frontend, backend, API, integration, and cloud-native initiatives.
- Partner with stakeholders on technical roadmaps and contribute reusable frameworks, patterns, and innovations to the Software Engineering Guild.
Requirements
- Experience designing and developing scalable software systems using object-oriented design, modern architecture patterns, and cloud-native practices.
- Experience with software development, system design, and ownership of large-scale distributed systems.
- Proficiency in software design and architecture, testing strategies, and operability engineering including observability, monitoring, and reliability.
- Advanced hands-on experience in performance engineering, secure coding, code reviews, data structures and algorithms, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
- Advanced proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java or C# and frontend development using React and/or TypeScript.
- Experience designing extensible architectures and integrating developer tools through APIs, plugins, and event-driven patterns.
- Experience with plugin-based architectures, DevOps tool integrations, and data-driven user interfaces.
- Hands-on experience developing and deploying cloud-native software using AWS, Kubernetes, and containerized architectures.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation and with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with observability platforms such as Splunk or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and technical leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

- The listed base salary range for O'Fallon, Missouri is $115,000–$184,000 USD.
