Responsibilities
- Design, engineer, implement, administer, and operationally support enterprise database platforms.
- Establish database engineering standards, governance frameworks, operational procedures, and platform best practices.
- Drive automation, scalability, reliability, security, developer experience, and platform modernization initiatives.
- Design and support highly available, resilient, and secure database infrastructure solutions.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code and configuration management solutions.
- Integrate database platforms into CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery processes.
- Automate provisioning, deployment, patching, upgrades, monitoring, and recovery activities.
- Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, performance analysis, capacity planning, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery initiatives.
- Partner with engineering, architecture, product, and security teams to deliver enterprise database services.
- Support Oracle, Redis, and PostgreSQL database services across hybrid and cloud-native environments.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to reliability, scalability, security, and operational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with security requirements, risk controls, regulatory obligations, and corporate governance standards.
- Mentor and develop engineers while leading cross-functional technical initiatives.
- Participate in rotational production support and incident management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Advanced expertise in Oracle Exadata, RAC, Redis, and PostgreSQL database engineering, administration, platform operations, and automation in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Deep understanding of database architecture, resiliency, performance optimization, security, data governance, and operational best practices.
- Strong knowledge of platform engineering, cloud infrastructure engineering, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and operational reliability.
- Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure and modern application platforms using automation at scale.
- Understanding of distributed systems management and microservices-based architectures.
- Experience establishing engineering standards, operational procedures, and platform governance practices.
- Ability to influence technical direction and contribute to technology strategy and platform modernization.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical, troubleshooting, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and develop engineers, manage multiple priorities, and drive continuous improvement.
- Experience or knowledge with MongoDB and Cassandra is included among the database technologies.
