Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and enhance SSD firmware features in collaboration with firmware engineers.
- Debug and resolve firmware issues to improve product performance, reliability, and quality.
- Develop test plans to validate firmware functionality and support product qualification activities.
- Participate in code reviews and improve code quality and development processes.
- Document firmware features, updates, and technical information for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field and returning to school following the internship.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience through internships, research, coursework, academic projects, or software/firmware development activities.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming and a basic understanding of embedded systems, firmware development, and software debugging.
- Experience using AI-enabled tools and large language models such as Copilot, Claude, or similar technologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Preferred: experience in firmware, embedded software, or systems engineering; familiarity with SSDs, storage systems, or computer hardware architectures; experience with Git, JIRA, or similar tools; and Python scripting for automation, testing, or data analysis.
