Responsibilities
- Collaborate with firmware engineers to develop, test, and enhance SSD firmware features and functionality.
- Debug and resolve firmware issues to improve product performance, reliability, and quality.
- Create and complete test plans to validate firmware behavior and support product qualification.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to software quality and development process improvements.
- Use AI-enabled tools and workflows to automate tasks and accelerate firmware development.
Requirements
- Have 0–2 years of relevant experience through internships, research, coursework, academic projects, or software/firmware development.
- Currently pursue a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field and return to school following the internship.
- Have experience programming in C/C++ through coursework, projects, internships, or research.
- Have a basic understanding of embedded systems, computer architecture, operating systems, or firmware development concepts.
- Have familiarity with AI-enabled tools and large language models such as Copilot or Claude.
- Preferred qualifications include prior firmware, embedded software, or systems engineering experience; familiarity with SSD technology, storage systems, NAND flash memory, or storage protocols; experience with Git or JIRA; and Python scripting experience for automation, testing, or data analysis.
