Responsibilities
- Deploy, install, upgrade, and operate ICEYE’s platform, Kubernetes clusters, and containerized applications in secure cloud, on-premises, and air-gapped environments.
- Build backend APIs, distributed services, data pipelines, integrations, and high-performance database systems for large-scale satellite and intelligence data.
- Create infrastructure-as-code, offline-capable CI/CD pipelines, artifact mirroring, monitoring, logging, alerting, backup, recovery, and upgrade paths.
- Operate infrastructure supporting AI workloads, including model serving, vector databases, and GPU nodes.
- Work directly with intelligence analysts, military operators, customer IT teams, and administrators to gather requirements, deliver solutions, provide training, and feed deployment experience back to product teams.
- Troubleshoot production and deployment issues across applications, storage, networking, and disconnected infrastructure.
- Travel approximately 40–60% to customer sites within the region.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on backend engineering experience building and operating production systems at scale.
- Strong Python programming skills, including typed and tested services and asynchronous APIs; TypeScript experience is a plus.
- Experience designing high-performance APIs, distributed services, messaging, caching, databases, and scalable production systems.
- Production experience in both cloud and on-premises environments, with deep Docker and Kubernetes deployment, debugging, and upgrade experience.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, infrastructure-as-code, GitOps, and CI/CD, preferably including offline or isolated-network pipelines.
- Production-scale PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB experience covering schema design, tuning, replication, backup, and recovery.
- Experience with observability through metrics, logs, and alerts, plus strong customer communication and technical explanation skills.
- Willingness and ability to work embedded with intelligence analysts, military operators, and customer IT teams.
- Strong spoken and written English.
- Eligibility and ability to attain relevant national and NATO security clearances, in-country residence, and native-level fluency in the deployment country.
- Preferred qualifications include defence, intelligence, government, air-gapped, geospatial, satellite imagery, Kafka, advanced Kubernetes, security hardening, classified-environment accreditation, and AI/LLM infrastructure experience.
