Software Engineering Instructor Part-Time
General AssemblyResponsibilities
- Teach students for 14 hours a week and host 3 hours of office hours.
- Prepare lessons and materials using existing GA curriculum content.
- Provide meaningful feedback to students on their progress.
- Collaborate with co-instructors and teaching assistants to meet student needs.
- Guide students in developing a capstone project to showcase their skills.
- Facilitate a positive and collaborative classroom community.
- Inspire students to overcome challenges in learning new skills.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in a software development team.
- Strong front-end and back-end development skills.
- Fluency in HTML, CSS, and full-stack JavaScript.
- Experience with at least one JS framework (Angular, Backbone, or React).
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of additional object-oriented programming languages, preferably Python.
- Priority given to applicants with relevant teaching certifications.
- Must be authorized to work in Singapore.
