Base Salary
$170k - $254k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive long-term technical strategy, architecture, modernization, and governance for API platforms and developer self-service portals.
- Design and implement advanced tooling, AI/ML-driven developer solutions, data-matching logic, and automated pipelines.
- Establish architectural patterns, design-review practices, platform governance, credential management, compliance workflows, and certificate renewal automation.
- Oversee deployment support, pipeline migrations, auditability, traceability, operational risk mitigation, and platform resilience.
- Lead API rationalization, infrastructure optimization, quota and rate-limit improvements, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Influence senior stakeholders and mentor SDE IIs, SDE IIIs, architects, and other engineers.
- Represent Citi technology through brown bags, technical talks, publications, user groups, and industry conferences.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in enterprise architecture, software engineering, or platform engineering in a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Subject matter expertise architecting, securing, and stabilizing complex, high-volume API platforms, developer portals, or API gateways.
- Proven experience designing automated solutions for risk reduction, developer self-service, and operational efficiency.
- Broad technical knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, PCF, and Akamai; frameworks such as Angular, Spring Boot, and JFP; and native iOS/Android development paradigms.
- Demonstrated experience driving infrastructure optimization and cost-saving initiatives through data analysis and stakeholder collaboration.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, diplomacy, and influence skills with senior executives, product teams, and engineering groups.
- Ability to work independently and manage large budgets, cross-functional dependencies, and multiple projects.
- Bachelor’s or university degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
