Responsibilities
- Advise leadership on complex enterprise technology needs across applications, networks, information security, databases, operating systems, and web technologies.
- Lead strategy and resolution for highly complex, large-scale platform and cloud engineering challenges.
- Develop technical solutions aligned with business objectives, enterprise technology environments, and strategic opportunities.
- Provide vision and direction for innovative business and platform solutions.
- Lead platform modernization, cloud transformation, automation, resiliency, and engineering-efficiency initiatives.
- Establish engineering standards, architecture patterns, governance, and platform strategies.
- Influence senior leaders and engineering organizations across the enterprise and mentor senior engineers.
- Evaluate industry practices and recommend technologies that improve operations and competitive advantage.
Requirements
- 7+ years of engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, cloud engineering, DevSecOps, infrastructure engineering, or SRE.
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing infrastructure-as-code, engineering automation, and software delivery solutions.
- 5+ years of experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or comparable container platforms.
- 5+ years of experience leading enterprise-scale platform modernization or cloud transformation initiatives.
- 3+ years of experience defining engineering standards, architecture patterns, or platform strategies.
- 3+ years of experience with software delivery, automation, security, and operational resiliency practices.
- 3+ years of experience influencing senior leaders and driving engineering outcomes across large organizations.
- Preferred experience includes SRE principles such as SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, incident management, observability, resiliency engineering, disaster recovery, and operational excellence.
- Preferred experience includes enterprise standards and governance for platform operations, security, evergreen technology management, and engineering practices.
- Preferred experience includes Splunk, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or similar observability platforms.
- Industry certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Red Hat OpenShift, AWS, Azure, GCP, or SRE certifications are preferred.
