Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, architect, and implement complex software applications and systems for space technologies.
- Lead and oversee the technical aspects of large-scale ground software projects, including high-level design decisions affecting cost, schedule, and technical performance.
- Write maintainable code, manage changes with version control, participate in code reviews, and troubleshoot software issues.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and support to engineers while fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- Drive the strategic direction of the software engineering team and guide adoption of new technologies and methodologies.
- Lead project execution, communicate with non-technical stakeholders, and document software configurations, processes, procedures, and technical designs.
- Develop and maintain performance-critical, distributed, cloud-native, and vehicle-interface software systems.
- Establish and support automated testing, CI/CD, static analysis, code quality, and mission-assurance practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree; a master's degree with 13 years of experience is also stated as an alternative.
- Typically 15+ years of related experience.
- Extensive expertise in multiple programming languages and software development principles, with the ability to architect complex systems.
- Strong technical leadership, project leadership, strategic decision-making, problem-solving, communication, and mentoring skills.
- Active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship are required.
- Experience with real-time or performance-critical software, system-level optimization, distributed systems, performance profiling, memory management, and debugging.
- Advanced architectural proficiency with Python, C++, and Python FastAPI; experience with Bash, PowerShell, Perl, Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, and Chef.
- Experience guiding teams through Agile or Scrum practices and using JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
- Expertise with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, AWS including GovCloud, Azure or Google Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and ArgoCD.
- Knowledge of network protocols, security principles, secure coding, command and telemetry links, technical documentation, ICDs, SysML, UML, and software design patterns.
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, vehicle validation test and checkout systems, static analysis tools, and organization-scale continuous integration.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
