Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership, engineering direction, and thought leadership to engineering teams.
- Analyze user stories and design, develop, test, and automate software applications.
- Own the architecture, design, development, and technical delivery of assigned applications.
- Perform hands-on development, including coding, API specifications, proof-of-concepts, code reviews, and testing.
- Establish consistent development practices, tools, and reusable components.
- Design and implement GCP data ingestion, data lake, data mesh, ETL, data warehousing, and high-availability solutions.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, technical product managers, and cross-functional technology groups.
- Develop end-to-end Power BI business intelligence solutions, including data models, metrics, KPIs, dashboards, and reports.
- Optimize BI reports, cubes, semantic models, frameworks, metadata repositories, and governance processes.
- Identify opportunities to adopt new technologies and improve existing systems and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
- 4+ years of commercial software development experience is preferred.
- Proficiency developing and hosting solutions on Google Cloud Platform, including Google Cloud Storage and BigQuery.
- Hands-on experience with Scala, Spark, Hive SQL, big data platforms, and big data lakes.
- Experience with ETL processes, ETL tools, and data modeling on big data platforms.
- Proficiency with Secure File Transfer operations and data management.
- Experience with Agile development, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and CI/CD pipeline tools.
- Experience with automated release management using Maven, Salt, Git, and Jenkins.
- Experience designing and modeling complex systems and architectures.
- Knowledge of web technologies including HTTP and Apache, and familiarity with Unix/Linux.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, object-oriented analysis, and software design.
- Experience designing Power BI data models, multidimensional and tabular models, semantic layers, dashboards, and reports.
- Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and SQL.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, leadership, written communication, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
