Responsibilities
- Translate stakeholder and customer needs into robust technical solutions.
- Own features end-to-end across design, implementation, deployment, and support.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, highly available distributed backend systems.
- Lead technical investigations, prototypes, and pre-studies supporting product and architecture decisions.
- Collaborate on architecture, engineering standards, and shared solutions.
- Participate in and lead design and code reviews.
- Diagnose, resolve, and prevent issues in existing products and clinical environments.
- Promote test automation, unit testing, product verification, refactoring, and technical-debt reduction.
- Mentor and coach other engineers.
- Develop software aligned with medical-device standards including IEC 62304 and ISO 13485.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of professional software development experience.
- Hands-on commercial software development experience, ideally in cross-functional teams.
- Strong experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable, highly available distributed systems.
- Strong experience with C# and .NET development.
- Strong debugging, profiling, and analysis skills for concurrent, multithreaded backend services.
- Experience with unit-testing frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
- Experience specifying and implementing standard and custom communication protocols, including REST APIs, TCP/IP sockets, and HL7.
- Experience with ORMs such as Entity Framework and databases such as SQL Server.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures, messaging systems such as RabbitMQ, and cloud and container-based architectures.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Azure, or other cloud providers.
