Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance Java software components and modules and deliver updates for business requirements.
  • Participate across the full service lifecycle, including design, build, and run.
  • Prepare, contribute to, and support architecture decisions and optimizations.
  • Ensure stable and reliable application operations and continuously improve operational processes, especially monitoring solutions.
  • Analyze, resolve, and sustainably prevent production and stability issues.
  • Maintain code quality, security, documentation, and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop and optimize deployment pipelines, including pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Collaborate closely with business departments, operations, architecture, service owners, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable qualification.
  • Several years of professional software development experience with Java and modern frameworks such as Spring Boot.
  • Strong experience developing distributed systems and microservices.
  • Very good knowledge of software design patterns, API-centered architectures, and highly available, scalable system landscapes.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Kafka and/or Spark or Flink.
  • Practical experience developing in cloud-native environments such as OpenShift or Azure.
  • Knowledge of modern development and operations practices, including versioning, automated testing, clean code, DevOps, SRE, and application support.
  • Open, transparent, and team-oriented communication style.
  • Very good English skills at least C1 and good German skills at least B2–C1.
  • Knowledge of energy-industry processes, experience with regulated IT systems, and experience with Scrum or Kanban are advantageous.
